Strategic partnership of UAE and Egypt gone right

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a dynamic and influential player in the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. Given its political, economic and cultural potential, UAE emerged as one of the key players in this complex region. One significant factor in the rise of UAE in the Middle East is its tight partnership with Egypt, which proved to be fruitful in a variety of realms, including energy sector, economic investment, diplomatic and security cooperation.

In the beginning of 2024, Omniki.survey asked people from Egypt about their opinion on UAE being the leader in political, economic, and cultural spheres in the Middle East. According to the research, more than a third of the population in Egypt believes that the UAE represents the interests of the Arab world. 41% of the participants emphasized UAE’s influence on the economy of the Middle East. Lesser emphasis was put on the political and cultural sphere, where politics accounted for 27% and culture for 31%.

As for the partnership, younger respondents (age below 34) did not consider Emirates as an important partner of Egypt, whereas the population between 35 and 44 argued that UAE is a vital strategic partner to their country. A larger portion of male population believed that partnership with the UAE is important for Egypt (58%), while among the female population this figure is lower and stands for 41%.
