Since the creation of the Arabian Gulf Cup in 1970, governed by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, sports have been viewed as a unifying enterprise in the Middle Eastern countries. As of now, Saudi Arabia continues expanding its sports infrastructure with the announcement of 11 new stadiums for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation, established in 1956, remains one of the Kingdom's most important sports bodies. Saudi Arabia is committed to global sports, which is further pronounced in Kingdom’s participation in the Olympics, including the Winter and upcoming Summer Games.
